Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect of combining 0.01％low-concentration atropine eye drops with orthokeratology(OK)lenses for pediatric myopia,and to assess effects on dry eye symptoms and sleep.Methods:Ninety myopic children treated at the Department of Ophthalmology,Jiniiang Municipal Hospital/Shanghai Sixth People's Hospital Fujian Hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 were randomly assigned(random number table)to a control group(OK lenses alone)or an intervention group(OK len-ses plus 0.01％atropine),with 45 participants per group.Outcomes included refractive error,uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA),tear film function,sleep quality,and adverse events.Results:After treatment,refractive error increased in both groups compared with baseline(P＜0.05).UCVA increased in the intervention group but decreased in the control group(both P＜0.05).These two parameters were significantly different between groups(both P＜0.05).The breakup time of tear film(BUT)and tear film lipid layer thickness(LLT)decreased from baseline in both groups(P＜0.05)but remained higher in the intervention group than in the control group posttreatment(P＜0.05).Dry eye symptom scores decreased in both groups(P＜0.05),with a greater reduc-tion in the intervention group(P＜0.05).Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)scores did not differ between groups at baseline or posttreatment(both P＞0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was similar between groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion:In chil-dren with myopia,combining 0.01％low-concentration atropine with OK lenses slows down the increase in refractive power,im-proves uncorrected visual acuity and better preserves tear film function,alleviates dry eye symptoms,and does not affect sleep quality.关键词
