摘要

Abstract

The economically sustainable biorefinery of lignin,which is the top abundant renewable aromatic polymer in nature,is faced with a critical challenge regarding the conversion efficiency.Corynebacterium glutamicum,as a chassis for lignin valorization,exhibits distinctive advantages including its comprehensive aromatic catabolic network,weak carbon catabolite repression,and robust industrial adaptability.In this review,we firstly summarized current major industrial strategies for lignin biorefinery with C.glutamicum:pathway modification to enhance key enzyme expression and implement dynamic regulation,chassis optimization to improve monomer tolerance,and the utilization of high-cell-density fermentation coupled with in situ extraction.Additionally,we highlighted three types of high-value products synthesized according to this platform;atom-economical natural products,funneling platform chemicals,and ring-cleavage derivatives.Finally,we presented future research directions for advancing lignin biorefinery using C.glutamicum.
