Abstract
The low-protein diet technology can address the issues of protein resource waste and environmental pollution associated with traditional feeding practices.The aim of this research was to investigate the effects of this technology on dairy cows' production performance and nitrogen emissions.A total of 20 dairy cows with consistent production performance during lactation were selected and randomly assigned to two groups:the high-protein group(HP,16%CP,n=10)and the low-protein group(LP,14%CP,n=10).The LP group was supplemented with rumen-protected methionine and lysine to balance the amino acids in the diet.The formal ex-perimental period lasted for 60 days.The results showed that,compared to the HP group,no significant differences were observed in milk yield,feed intake,milk production efficiency,milk fat content,or milk protein content in the LP group(P>0.05).However,the LP group exhibited a significant reduction in milk urea nitrogen content,as well as a decrease in nitrogen content in feces and urine(P<0.05).In conclusion,provided amino acid balance is maintained,reducing the crude protein level in the diet can effectively decrease nitrogen emissions from dairy cows without negatively affecting their production performance and milk quality.This provides an theo-retical basis for improving feed efficiency and promoting sustainable development in dairy farming.关键词
