Abstract

To screen for potato varieties suitable for the ecological conditions of dryland in Northern Shaanxi,a systematic observation of agronomic traits,yield,and quality characteristics of eight varieties(lines),including Longshu 7,was conducted using Kexin 1 as the control.The results showed highly significant differences(P<0.01)in plant height and main stem number among the varieties.Jinshu 16 had the highest plant height(102.4 cm),while Longshu 7 had the most main stems(3.7).Highly significant differences were also observed in yield,tuber weight per plant,and marketable rate.Jinshu 16 achieved the highest yield of 16 549.5 kg·hm-2,15.7%in-crease over the control,and the highest marketable rate of 82.4%.Significant differences were found in dry matter and starch content among the varieties.Longshu 7 had the highest dry matter content(22.0%)and starch content(18.4%),significantly exceeding the oth-er varieties.A comprehensive evaluation of drought tolerance,based on the membership function value of drought resistance coeffi-cients for each trait,calculated the comprehensive drought resistance index(DRI).The ranking was Jinshu 16(0.85)>Longshu 7(0.82)>Longshu 17(0.78)>CK(0.70).Therefore,considering yield,quality,and drought tolerance,Jinshu 16 is recommended as the pre-ferred fresh-consumption variety for dryland areas,while Longshu 7 is the preferred processing variety.
