Abstract

A refined oil pipeline in Southwest China is an important component of Yunnan Province's"Five Networks"project,which can reduce the long-term dependence of refined oil on railway transportation and enhance the transportation capacity of refined oil in southeastern Yunnan.Under the current operating process,the allowable blending capacity of the pipeline is insufficient,necessitating centralized processing at specific station for large amount of mixed oil,which imposes a heavy load on on-site distillation facilities.To address the pipeline's operating characteristics,a transient model was developed to simulate the sequential transportation conditions.The study examines the mixed-oil withdrawal(draw-off)and blending process and conducts blending tests to propose a mixed-oil withdrawal and blending scheme.The simulation results indicate station G as the optimal withdrawal(draw-off)station.The blending experiment results show that the optimal withdrawal volume at station G enables full reblending of the withdrawn oil into the blending stream.The proposed scheme for mixed-oil withdrawal and blending can alleviate the loading at withdrawal stations and improve the allowable blending capacity of the pipeline,providing engineering reference for sequential transportation technology of the refined oil pipeline.
