Construction and evaluation of curcumin-loaded microalgae delivery system
摘要
Abstract
Microalgae(MA)as a kind of self-sustaining autotrophic organism with rich nutri-tion and high photosynthetic utilization rate, has a promising development prospect in food, medicine, and genetic engineering fields.Curcumin(Cur)is a natural monomer extracted from turmeric rhizomes, which has various biological activities such as antioxidation,anti-in-flammation,anti-tumor,protection of kidneys and liver, etc. However, its solubility is ex-tremely poor and its bioavailability is relatively low.In this experiment, microalgae was used as the delivery carrier, and Curcumin microalgae delivery system(MA@Cur)was prepared by solvent evaporation method. The loading performance, release behavior, cellular uptake, gastrointestinal distribution and antioxidant activity of this system were evaluated. The re-sults showed that MA@Cur had a high loading rate and good stability, which could signifi-cantly improve the water dispersibility and intestinal fluid release degree of Cur;Cell experi-ments indicated that this system had good biocompatibility and could significantly promote the uptake of Cur by intestinal cells, effectively enhancing the antioxidant activity of Cur;The in vivo distribution experiments in mice showed that MA@Cur could prolong the retention time of active molecules in the intestinal tract. In conclusion, microalgae as the delivery carri-er of Curcumin can significantly enhance the solubility, stability and oral absorption efficiency of Curcumin, providing a reference for the efficient delivery of hydrophobic active molecules in vivo and in vitro.关键词
