5 kV Air-Core Transformer-Type Repetitive Frequency Pulse Power Supply With Microsecond Duration

Abstract
The air-core transformer circumvents the magnetic saturation problem of traditional magnetic-core pulse transformers,significantly reducing the volume,weight,and cost of the power supply,and thus has a very broad application prospect.This paper conducts research on the air-core transformer-type pulse power supply technology for the industrial field.A compact,solid-state pulse generator with adjustable microsecond-range repetitive frequency and quasi-square-wave parameters is developed.The appropriate design range of parameters such as the magnetizing inductance of the air-core transformer is determined through Multisim simulation.The influence of different connection structures between transformer layers on the electric field and distributed parameters is theoretically derive.The developed air-core transformer type pulse power supply adopts a modular design,which is convenient for cascading to increase the maximum output amplitude.The pulse waveform parameters can be flexibly modulated.The pulse width adjustment range is 3-5 μs,the pulse front and rear edges are 1 μs,and the repetition frequency is adjustable within the range of 100-500 Hz.It can output a quasi-square-wave pulse with an amplitude of 5 kV.关键词
