Abstract

To investigate the mutual influence on stability between surface dump sites and underground goafs,this study,set against the backdrop of a newly constructed surface dump site atop an underground goaf in a certain mine,employs theoretical analysis and numerical simulation to analyze the stability of the surface dump site and the overlying rock mass of the goaf.The results indicate that the combined depth of the caving zone and fracture zone heights(33.3~62.4 m)in the overlying rock mass of the goaf,along with the influence depth(155 m)of the dump site load,exceeds the buried depth of the overlying rock mass above the goaf.The load from the dump site causes secondary damage to the overlying rock mass of the goaf.Under the action of the dump site load,the displacement increment in the vertical direction of the overlying rock mass above the goaf ranges from 0.6 to 2.5 cm,while the displacement increment in the horizontal direction ranges from-2.16 to-1.27 cm.The secondary damage to the overlying rock mass caused by the dump site load results in the plastic zone extending to the surface,subsequently leading to instability of the dump site.Under specific topographical and geomorphological conditions,the dump site can prevent landslide disasters triggered by the instability of the overlying rock mass above the goaf.
