Literary Dissemination and Power Dynamics in the Algorithmic Era
摘要
Abstract
Algorithms have brought profound transformations to the field of literary dissemination.From content and channels of transmission to reader reception,algorithms have gradually acquired dominant discursive power in subtle forms.Tracing the developmental history of algorithms reveals their growing influence and their role in bridging literature with the digital world,giving rise to a new representational form-AI-generated literature.In the context of literary dissemination,algorithms,on one hand,enhance readers' in-depth understanding of literary works,provide diverse reception contexts,and democratize literary criticism.On the other hand,their information cocoon effect narrows readers' horizons,trapping them in aesthetically one-dimensional perspectives.Furthermore,algorithms have reshaped the criteria for literary selection and evaluation systems,allowing data to become a form of"justice"guiding literary consumption and criticism.From the perspective of literary power,the existence of two distinct types of literature in the algorithmic era and the resulting deep division in aesthetic tastes demand critical reflection.To address this situation,we must start with ourselves by enhancing algorithmic literacy and skills.Adopting an open-minded approach of"listening to diverse perspectives"in the algorithmic era of literary reception will enable a mutual convergence between readers and quality literary works.关键词
