Reflection and Response to the Spectacularization of Academic Professions in the Digital Intelligence Era

Abstract
In the modern society deeply penetrated by intelligent digital technologies,academic professions increasingly exhibit characteristics of spectacularization.The academic practices of university faculty are no longer confined to traditional teaching and research but are instead embedded within a governance logic characterized by visibility,evaluability,and communicability.Teaching activities tend to be platform-oriented and performative;research outcomes are reduced to quantifiable performance indicators;teacher identities are alienated into visual symbols attached to media mechanisms;and university organizational operations are increasingly driven by visibility-oriented performance rituals.The spectacularization of academic professions in the era of digital intelligence emerges from the dynamic interplay of multiple forces,including institutional impetus,technological catalysts,sociocultural inducement,and individual assimilation.Its cumulative effect is gradually eroding the professionalism,educational integrity,and public mission of academic work.To achieve the sustainable development of the academic profession,it is imperative to reconstruct the evaluation system and restore the authentic order of academic work;optimize the media environment and uphold the ethics of academic expression;reshape academic culture and affirm the professional value of university teachers;and activate individual agency to cultivate a symbiotic academic ecosystem.These efforts are essential for guiding universities back to their academic foundations.关键词
