Preliminary report on breeding of a mid to late maturing hybrid citrus Qiuyuegan
摘要
Abstract
Qiuyuegan is a medium-maturing citrus hybrid bred from the cross between Kiyomi(female parent,monoembryonic)and Egan No.1 Ponkan(male parent).The tree vigor of this line is moderate with upright tree posture.In normal years in Wuhan area,the beginning of the flowering is in early April,and the peak bloom is in late April.The fruit development lasts for 223 days,with fruits ripening successively from late November to early December.The matured fruits had a smoothy surface and yellow-or-ange colored peel,with average single fruit weight of 215.00 g,longitudinal diameter of 6.80 cm,transverse diameter of 8.35 cm,fruit shape index of 0.81,peel thickness of 2.89 mm,and seed count of 8.7 per fruit.The content of the total soluble solids was 14.0,with the titratable acid content of 0.99％,vitamin C content of 51.67 mg/100 g.It exhibited crispy texture,melting flesh,pleasant sweet-sour taste,and easy peeling,which contributes to this line to be selected as a candidate for variety regis-tration.It possessed high and stable productivity,with the yield of mature trees reaching 2,000-3,000 kg per 667 m2 during the full fruiting period.This hybrid is suitable for cultivation in the major citrus-producing areas of Hubei Province.关键词
