摘要

Abstract

The breeding of high-sugar sugarcane varieties is central to enhancing the competitiveness of the sugar industry.This article systematically reviews the progress in related technological research.High-sugar traits are governed by complex genetic networks and physiological-biochemical processes,such as key enzymes and hormones.Traditional crossbreeding remains the cornerstone but faces bottlenecks such as long breeding cycles and low efficiency.Modern biotechnology provides new avenues:molecular marker-assisted selection(MAS)facilitates early-stage screening;genomics(e.g.,GWAS and whole-genome selection,GS)deepens genetic analysis;transgenic and genome editing technologies(e.g.,CRISPR/Cas9)enable targeted trait improvement;and high-throughput phenotyping enhances identification efficiency.Future high-sugar breeding must progress towards integrated breeding,combining genomics,biotechnology,and information technology to construct an intelligent breeding system.This approach aims to overcome challenges such as a narrow genetic base and negative trait correlations,thereby achieving a leap forward in breeding efficiency.
