Abstract

Based on observation data from the National Meteorological Station from 2008 to 2023,the com-prehensive monitoring index of meteorological drought and the disaster loss rate method combining the kernel density estimation method are used to study the spatiotemporal characteristics and variation of fishery drought di-saster losses over China.The results show that the annual averaged drought affected area of aquaculture in China is 2 025 km2,and the economic losses is 2.23 billion Yuan,with loss rate of 2.7%and 0.2%,respectively.The annual cumulative drought intensity in 7 provinces as Yunnan,Guizhou,Hunan,etc.is significantly positively correlated with the loss rate,it is shown in risk assessment that:when the loss rate of aquaculture area is greater than 2.5%,the probability of occurrence is high in Guizhou and Hunan.At the level of economic loss rate≥0.25%,the probability of economic losses of aquatic products in Yunnan,Hunan,Jiangxi,and Inner Mongolia is high.Although the annual cumulative drought intensity in China has increased since 2008,the affected aquacul-ture area and economic losses of aquatic products caused by drought have shown a significant decreasing trend,which may be attributed to the continuous improvement of disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities.
