Abstract
In his novel Wencheng,Yu Hua employs historical discourse,romantic narrative,and suffering as vehicles.He not only recreates the turbulent era of warlord conflicts and rampant banditry but also profoundly reflects the existential conditions and spiritual journeys of individuals in the tide of history.The novel restores the historical atmosphere through the depiction of folk customs and war-torn landscapes.However,it exhibits a narrative stance that is ambivalent and absent due to the ambiguity of historical consciousness.The romantic narrative adopts a love triangle structure to enhance its legendary quality,but the logical gaps in the plot undermine the narrative's coherence.While the suffering narrative unfolds across multiple dimensions,it fails to achieve a creative breakthrough.Instead,it demonstrates a fixation and self-repetition of narrative paradigms.Through a close reading and analysis of Wencheng,this critique acknowledges its narrative exploratory value while critically examining its artistic limitations.The aim is to advance a deeper interpretation of the novel and provide a reference for similar literary narrative practices.关键词
