Clinical Study of Needle-Warming Moxibustion Based'Simultaneous Treatment of Neck and Lumbar'Theory Combined with'Neck Four-Step'Tuina Manipulation in Treatment of CSR

Abstract
Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of needle-warming moxibustion based on the theory of'simultaneous treatment of neck and lumbar'combined with the'neck four-step'Tuina manipulation in treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR).Methods:A total of 104 patients with CSR were randomly divided into the observation group(n=52,2 cases dropped off)and the control group(n=52).The control group received the'neck four-step'Tuina manipulation;on which basis,the observation group was also treated with needle-warming moxibustion based on the theory of'simultaneous treatment of neck and lumbar'.Both groups were treated for 4 weeks.Clinical efficacy,neck pain score(Northwick Park Questionnaire,NPQ),neck disability index(NDI),World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF(WHOQOL-BREF),cervical curvature values,TCM symptom scores,as well as serum levels of prostaglandin E2(PGE2),cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2),and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)were compared between the two groups after the treatment.Results:The total effective rate was 96.00％(48/50)in the observation group,which was significantly higher than 76.92％(40/52)in the control group(P＜0.05).NPQ neck pain scores,NDI scores,and TCM symptom scores were significantly reduced(P＜0.05),while cervical curvature values and WHOQOL-BREF scores were significantly increased after the treatment in both groups(P＜0.05);the improvements were more pronounced in the observation group(P＜0.05).Serum levels of PGE2,COX-2,and TNF-α were significantly decreased after the treatment in both groups(P＜0.05),with lower levels observed in the observation group compared with the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:For CSR,needle-warming moxibustion based on the theory of'simultaneous treatment of neck and lumbar'combined with the'neck four-step'Tuina manipulation demonstrates good clinical efficacy and can significantly improve patients' quality of life.关键词
