摘要

Abstract

Lignocellulose, the dry matter of plants, consists of a matrix of cellulose and hemicellulose that provides structural rigidity and toughness. It is an extremely abundant resource with significant potential for sustainable energy production.Converting lignocellulose into ener-gy materials could help alleviate global energy shortages. However, its complex and recalcitrant structure makes degradation and utilization challenging.Microbial methods are commonly employed to break down lignocellulose, thereby enhancing the availability of renewable re-sources.Termites are one of the oldest and most successful efficient lignocellulose decomposers in nature, widely distributed.Among them, termites belong to the higher order of the termite subfamily of the termite family. There are a large number of microorganisms with lignocellu-lose degradation ability in the gut, which can develop and utilize lignocellulose.Advanced cultured termites have unique characteristics due to their different lifestyles and foods, and have a higher efficiency in degrading lignocellulose compared to other termites. This paper summarizes the biological characteristics, intestinal structure, and role of symbiotic microorganisms in the gut of termites in the degradation of lignocellu-lose,in order to provide reference for further research and utilization of termite degradation of lignocellulose.
