Abstract

In the field of radar target tracking,when there is relative motion between the target and the radar sensor,the Doppler effect causes a frequency shift in the received signal.This frequency change is coupled with the measurement of the target's distance,which is known as the Doppler-range coupling problem.When phased array radars use linear frequency modulation(LFM)signals for conventional tracking,although a large time-bandwidth product can be obtained to improve range resolution,the strong Doppler-range coupling effect after pulse compression makes traditional range-velocity measurement algorithms suffer from slow convergence and low accuracy.This is particularly detrimental to the tracking of high-speed targets during the track initiation phase,severely affecting the real-time and accurate monitoring of targets by radar systems.A three-frame fast convergence algorithm for Doppler-range coupling scenarios is proposed.The three frames of waveforms with different coupling coefficients are used to construct a system of multivariate constraint equations,enabling the simultaneous acquisition of velocity and position parameters for multiple targets through joint solving.In the verification process,an iterative optimization mechanism is employed to dynamically calibrate the measurement results,effectively reducing the mutual interference between range and velocity parameters and gradually ap-proaching the optimal range and velocity measurement results,thus achieving fast and accurate target tracking.The excellent performance of the three-frame fast convergence algorithm is verified through theoretical analysis,Monte Carlo simulations,and field measurement data.During the track initiation phase,the convergence speed of range and velocity measurements is more than four times faster than that of traditional algorithms.The pro-posed three-frame fast convergence algorithm for Doppler-range coupling successfully solves the problems of slow convergence and low accuracy in traditional algorithms when dealing with Doppler-range coupling issues.The proposed algorithm has innovative waveform design and iterative optimization strategy,significantly en-hances the target tracking performance of phased-array radars under complex conditions,and provides new ide-as and methods for the development of radar target tracking technology,demonstrating high theoretical value and practical application prospects.
