Abstract

[Objective]To explore the community distribution characteristics of meso-micro soil fauna in dis-tinct habitats and their responses to environmental factors in the Yili Valley.[Method]Four typical plant communi-ties were selected as study sites:Salicyna colony(I),Artemisia Yili colony(Ⅱ),Leymus chinensis colony(Ⅲ),and sophora alopecosa colony(Ⅳ).We investigated the composition and diversity characteristics of soil fauna community in each habitat.[Result]A total of 1895 meso-micro soil fauna were collected,belonging to 2 phyla,5 classes,13 or-ders,and 24 families.Oribatida and Actinedida were the dominant groups.Pairwise community comparisons using the Jaccard similarity index indicated a state of moderate similarity.Horizontal distribution analysis revealed no significant differences in the average density of individuals among the four habitats(P>0.05).However,significant differences were observed in the number of taxonomic groups(P<0.05)Diversity indices also varied significantly across habitats(P<0.05).The Shannon-Wiener index and Pielou index were highest in plot I and significantly exceeding those in plot II,while plots Ⅲ and Ⅳ showed lower values.The Simpson index was highest in plot Ⅰ,significantly greater than in plot Ⅲ,but lower in plots Ⅱ and Ⅳ.The Margalef index was highest in plot Ⅲ,significantly surpassing that of plots Ⅰ and Ⅳ,and lowest in plot Ⅱ.The density-group index was highest in plot Ⅲ and significantly higher than in plot Ⅱ.The Pearson correlation identified that soil total potassium,total phosphorus,and alkali-hydrolyzed nitro-gen were the primary soil factors affecting the diversity of meso-micro soil faunas.Redundancy analysis indicated that soil organic matter,alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen,and available phosphorus were the main drivers of community distribu-tion.[Conclusion]The community structure of meso-and micro-soil fauna differs significantly among habitats.The Leymus chinensis community(Ⅲ)appears to provide a more suitable environment for the breeding and survival of these soil animals.
