Abstract

Aiming at the current situation where the load calculation method for multi-module protective barriers is unclear and there was a lack of effective approaches to predict their motion responses,this paper proposes a set of calculation methods for predicting the loads and motion responses of multi-module structures.The wave-current load was calculated using the Morison equation,and the connection and mooring forces were determined based on the displacement coordination condition at the connection points and the catenary equation.The multimodule motion e-quation was then derived,yielding the motion response of the fence.The results show that the motion amplitude is largest at the modules at both ends and smallest at the modules in the middle.As the wavelength increases,structural fluctuations become more pronounced,and responses vary with different wave directions.The proposed calculation method for load and motion response provides a reference for the design and application of multimodule barriers.
