Fluid resonance in a parallel double-box narrow gap under the action of focused wave groups

Abstract
To address the challenge of fluid resonance in the narrow gap of a parallel double box under the action of a focused wave,a numerical wave tank of OpenFOAM is used to study the motion response of fluid when the frequency of the focused wave is equal to the resonance frequency of the narrow gap fluid and when it is half and one-third of the resonance frequency of the narrow gap fluid.The fluid motion in the narrow gap under the action of the focused wave can be divided into two stages:a transient motion during wave focusing and a continuous motion after the focused wave.Results revealed that in the first stage of the focused wave action,the wave crests of each component wave were superimposed on the double-box system at the focal point,resulting in a rapid increase in the wave surface of the fluid in the double-box and that the period of fluid motion in the narrow gap was close to the period of the focused wave,indicating that the narrow fluid motion in this stage was mainly generated by the wave frequency effect.Further,under the three incident focusing wave frequencies used in this study,the narrow gap fluid resonance was excited by linear harmonics,second-order harmonics,and third-order harmonics,respectively,and the narrow gap fluid motion period quickly approached the natural vibration period.Finally,in the second stage,after the action of the focused wave,under the influence of the three focused wave frequencies,the motion of the narrow gap fluid exhibited periodic motion consistent with its natural vibration.关键词
