Abstract

To address the complex issues of dam foundation seepage prevention and downstream facility safety in the construction of small reservoirs in karst mountainous areas,a study on the hub layout and operation scheduling impact assessment is conducted.Taking Jincui Lake Reservoir as an example,the arch dam type is selected through comparative analysis of dam types.The flood discharge system is designed with a crest surface spillway and a bottom outlet on the right bank for emptying.A comprehensive water intake system consisting of"tunnel+vertical shaft+in-reservoir pumping station"is adopted.Flood routing calculations are performed to analyze the safety impacts of reservoir operation and scheduling on the downstream subterranean flow channels and power plant buildings.The overall safety regarding dam foundation seepage prevention,operation scheduling,and water supply reliability is assessed.The results indicate that under both design and check flood conditions,the water levels at the downstream power plant section remain below its foundation base,with safety margins of 0.66 m and 0.39 m,respectively.After seepage control treatment,the permeability rate of the dam foundation was reduced from approximately 15 Lu to 5 Lu.The reservoir exhibits multi-year regulation capacity,with an annual designed water supply volume of 4.326 million m3.The proposed layout and operation scheduling strategy can effectively balance the beneficial and safety objectives of reservoirs in karst regions,providing a feasible technical reference for similar projects.
