Abstract

This study investigated the effects of salt stress and aroma-enhancing fertilization on soluble protein,soluble sugar,and L-proline contents in rice leaves and grains,as well as rice yield,revealing the association mechanism between physiological responses and yield formation of rice under salt stress and aroma-enhancing fertilization conditions.Saline-alkali tolerant rice varieties Jingliangyou 326 and Shuangliangyou 138 were used as the test varieties,pot experiments were conducted to simulate the salt stress environment,and the aroma-enhancing fertilization treatment was set up.The results showed that salt stress significantly increased soluble protein and L-proline contents in leaves,but affected the soluble sugar synthesis during mid-growth stages(booting and full heading stages)of rice.Shuangliangyou 138 exhibited generally higher soluble protein and soluble sugar contents than Jingliangyou 326,demonstrating stronger osmotic regulation capacity.Grain L-proline significantly accumulated under salt stress,while the soluble sugar content markedly decreased,indicating salt stress impacted grain quality by interfering with soluble sugar and L-proline metabolic pathways.Aroma-enhancing fertilization and salt stress caused significant reductions in effective panicle number,and the theoretical yields of Jingliangyou 326 and Shuangliangyou 138 decreased by 81.93%and 84.94%respectively.Aroma-enhancing fertilization partially alleviated yield loss under salt stress through increasing the grain number per panicle(48.81%improvement in Shuangliangyou 138),but the yield could not be fully restored to the level without salt stress.This research provides reference for breeding salt-tolerant varieties and optimizing fertilization strategies in saline-alkali soils.In the future,salt-tolerant variety breeding should be integrated with fertilization technologies optimization to synergistically enhance the yield.
