Abstract

In order to investigate the effects of light on the domestication and behavior of Siniperca chuatsi,the behavioral activities were studied under different light intensities(dark area:10-20 lx,transition area:300-400 lx,and bright area:800-1 000 lx)and light colors(red,yellow,green,blue,and white).Through individual and group behavior experiments,the selection behavior of different sizes(3 cm,6 cm,12 cm)of S.chuatsi towards light intensity was investigated.The results showed that for the 3 cm group:both single-fish and multiple-fish showed significantly longer average residence time in the bright area than in the dark area and transition area(P<0.05).For the 6 cm group:both single-fish and multiple-fish showed significantly longer average residence time in the transition area than in the dark area and bright area(P<0.05).For the 12 cm group of S.chuatsi:both single-fish and multiple-fish showed significantly longer average residence time in the dark area than in the transition area and bright area(P<0.05).The study also explored the color preference behavior of 3 cm S.chuatsi through color selection experiments,and the results showed that S.chuatsi had a significant preference for yellow light.The study indicates that there are differences in the preference for light intensity among S.chuatsi,as well as individual and group preferences.As the size increases,S.chuatsi shows a more pronounced preference for weak light.
