Abstract

Taking the newly built river sediment storage yard at a construction spoil disposal site in a certain area as the research object,this study adopted laboratory tests and numerical simulation methods to analyze the stability of solidified river sediment during the filling process under different slope ratios,based on the age dependent characteristics of solidified river sediment.The following conclusions were drawn:a composite curing agent consisting of 25%cement and 25%gypsum was determined as the optimal formulation.The safety factor of solidified river sediment was positively correlated with the filling height and slope gradient;under the same height and slope conditions,the fill mass ignoring the strength age dependent effect was more prone to instability.Solidified river sediment could be subjected to immediate elevated filling.If the layered filling method was adopted,controlling the filling operation rate at 7 days per meter and conducting slope construction with a gradient of 1∶3.5 would not only give full play to the strength age dependent effect of solidified sediment,but also balance construction safety and economic efficiency.
