Clinical characteristics and prognostic evaluation of fetuses with isolated enlarged cisterna magna

Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics and prognostic evaluation of fetal isolated enlarged cisterna magna(IECM)and its differential value in prognosis.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 51 children diagnosed with IECM in Shanxi Provincial Children's Hospital from March 2020 to March 2022 as the observation group.Another 60 normal children were selected as the control group.The children were assessed using the pediatric neuropsychological developmental scale at 6 months,12 months,and 2 years of age,focusing on the development of five functional domains:gross motor,fine motor,adaptability,language,and social behavior.The developmental differences between the two groups were compared.ROC curve was used to evaluate the predictive value of cisterna magna width for motor development delay.Results At the 6-month and 12-month following-up,the observation group had significantly lower gross motor DQ scores compared to the control group(P<0.05),while no significant differences were found in other functional domains(P>0.05).At the 2-year following-up,no statistical differences were observed in the five functional domain scores between the two groups(P>0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that cisterna magna width had a high predictive value for motor development delay at 6 months and 12 months,with the AUC of 0.925(95%CI:0.855-0.994)and 0.903(95%CI:0.796-1.000),respectively.Conclusion Fetal isolated enlarged cisterna magna is associated with delayed motor development.The cisterna magna width at 6 months and 12 months has high predictive value for gross motor development delay,providing reference for prenatal counseling and clinical intervention.关键词
