Exploration of a Competition-Driven Teaching Model for Cultivating Applied Architectural Design Talents

Abstract
This paper responds to the shortcomings of traditional architectural design courses in fostering practical ability and deep industry-education integration by proposing a competition-driven teaching reform.Using the teaching practices of the School of Architecture at Guangzhou City University of Technology as a case study,the curriculum is restructured to embed competition themes and industry requirements throughout the design instruction process.A multi-stage framework is established to progressively develop core competencies in innovative thinking,technical integration,and teamwork.The teaching model features dynamic group formation and dual-mentorship by university and industry tutors,integrates various competition formats,and builds an interconnected mechanism between learning and competitions.In addition,a comprehensive evaluation system is introduced to reinforce ongoing assessment.This provides a valuable reference for the cultivation of application-oriented architectural design professionals.关键词
