摘要

Abstract

To effectively improve and optimize the dredging and slurry suction process of vessels,and enhance the quality and construction efficiency of dredging projects,a solid-liquid two-phase water-sediment flow model is established for the slurry suction pipeline from the draghead to the mud tank.The sediment movement in the suction pipe of a trailing suction hopper dredger during normal dredging operations is simulated to find out the influence pattern of various characteristic factors on the volume concentration and the velocity distribution of sediment in the slurry.The results show that,under the same working conditions,the sediment concentration of the dredged slurry in the suction pipeline is significantly affected by the median particle size of the sediment and the slurry velocity.The larger the particle size of the sediment and the higher the slurry velocity,the greater the volume concentration gradient.Therefore,it is advisable that the slurry velocity should be reduced as much as possible to improve the concentration distribution when using the trailing suction hopper dredger for dredging operations,thereby enhancing the construction efficiency of trailing suction hopper dredger.
