Optimization of MEP Pipeline Integrated Design for University Frontier Science Center Based on BIM Technology

Abstract
With a university frontier science center taken as a case for study,building information modeling(BIM)technology is applied to the systematic integrated design of MEP(mechanical,electrical,and plumbing)pipelines.Based on the principles of MEP detailed design,the review report on BIM model is analyzed and a comprehensive design for the project's MEP pipelines is developed from four dimensions:integrated support and hanger design,pipeline bending and avoidance,pipeline spatial layout optimization,and seismic support setup.The results show that BIM technology helps to analyze the specific location of various pipelines,determining the clearance height under the beam.Additionally,it enables a detailed design for equipment rooms and pipeline intersection areas,optimizing the positioning of MEP equipment with largely reduced number of collision points.Thus,the effective coordination among various MEP disciplines can be achieved,and the quality of MEP construction can greatly improve.关键词
