The Matrix Form of the Clay and Sand Model and Its Application in Saturated Loess

Abstract
By constructing the matrix expression of the clay and sand model(CASM),the influencing factors of plastic volumetric strain and plastic shear strain in the stress-strain relationship can be clearly elucidated.The matrix representations of the CASM under four typical stress paths are derived,facilitating a deeper understanding of the significance and roles of various variables in critical state soil mechanics.This study compares the triaxial test results of saturated loess with the computational outcomes of the CASM,validating the model's applicability to saturated loess under four typical stress paths.The results show that the experimental stress-strain curves under four conventional triaxial stress paths closely align with the model's calculations.The matrix expression of the CASM aids in the validation,analysis,and application of triaxial tests,effectively capturing the mechanical behavior of saturated loess.关键词
