On Jiang Liangfu's Study of Ci Poetry and Its Origins

Abstract
Jiang Liangfu,a distinguished scholar of modern and contemporary China,had a broad academic scope throughout his life,with his research also extending to the study of Ci poetry.During the Republican period of China,he completed the full-scale annotation and exegesis of two Ci anthologies,Ci Xuan(Anthology of Ci Poetry)and Xu Ci Xuan(sequel to the Anthology of Ci Poetry).Additionally,he left behind two unfinished annotated works,namely Jin Lian Ji Jiao Jian(A Critical Collection and Annotation of Jinlianji)and Shu Yu Ci Zhu(Annotated Edition of Shuyu Ci).The annotations were relatively rich in content,integrating interpretation,collation,evaluation,and discernment into one.Meanwhile,Jiang Liangfu integrated his poetic thoughts into the process of annotation,and he also had some scattered essays on Ci poetry.Overall,he believed that the origin of Ci poetry was Jueju(quatrains)and Changduanju(lines with irregular lengths)under the influence of Hu music;He divided the history of Ci poetry into three periods and expressed dissatisfaction with Ci poetry from the Southern Song Dynasty and beyond;He also discussed the evolution and differences between poetry and music.Tracing back to its origins,Jiang Liangfu's Ci poetry thought was to some extent influenced by Wang Guowei and Hu Shi,and should belong to the new school of Ci poetry in the Republic of China.关键词
