Retrogression Theory,Outsider and Ecocentrism:Deviations in Wei An's Prose Ecological Writing

Abstract
Since the 1990s,Wei An's prose has been highly praised in Chinese ecological literature.This praise stems not only from the recognition of the"literary quality"of Wei An's works,but also from the respect for Wei An's own image as an"ecological martyr".If it is merely a"literary paper",it should be admitted in a realistic manner that there are many biases in Wei An's ecological narrative.In particular,the cultural conservatism concept of"the present being inferior to the past",the romanticized imagination of the lower class as an outsider from the perspective of scholars and literati,and the ecological centrism stance that deviates from the"people-oriented"concept are especially questionable.The emergence of these biases is largely related to Wei An's excessive mechanical transplantation of Western ecological concepts and failure to localize and transform them based on the"Chinese experience".关键词
