Research on the Integration of Teacher Education in China:Process,Hotspots and Prospects

Abstract

Driven by both educational modernization and artificial intelligence technology,the integration of teacher education has become a key pathway to addressing the structural disconnections in teachers'professional development.Analysis of literature on integrated teacher education research from CNKI and Duxiu Academic Search Databases reveals that studies in this field have undergone four stages:the theoretical emergence period(1996-2001),the theoretical development period(2002-2011),the theoretical deepening period(2012-2017),and the theoretical transformation period(2018-present).The research hotspots primarily focus on five aspects:conceptual definition and theoretical foundations,international experiences and local implications,integration of training objectives,integration of curriculum design,and integration of management systems and support mechanisms.Looking ahead,research on the integration of teacher education needs to be grounded in the context of Chinese modernization.Theoretically,it should integrate the Confucian tradition of teaching with intelligent features to construct a dynamic and collaborative theoretical system.Methodologically,a shift toward mixed-methods empirical research is essential.Practically,discipline-specific stratified implementation plans should be designed,while strengthening risk governance to balance technological ethics,implementing flexible mechanisms,and enhancing teacher agency,all ultimately serving the strategic goal of building a strong education system.A systematic review of the research evolution on the integration of teacher education in China,an in-depth analysis of research hotspots,and a prospective exploration of future research directions can provide academic reference for constructing a modern teacher education system with Chinese characteristics.
