Abstract

The quality of navigation visibility is directly related to the safety of ships during voyages.Poor visibility conditions,such as the presence of obstacles or obstructed sight lines,may prevent ship operators from clearly observing the navigational environment ahead,increasing the risk of collisions and potentially leading to accidents.Currently,navigation visibility is primarily studied through full-scale ship trials and navigational aid performance tests.However,full-scale trials have significant limitations,including long duration,high cost,and extensive personnel requirements.Using the proposed Changzhou-Taizhou Railway crossing over the Desheng River waterway as a case study,a three-dimensional navigation environment model of the project area and a representative ship model were constructed using a ship maneuvering simulator.Navigation simulation experiments were conducted to analyze navigation visibility and the deployment of aids to navigation.The results indicate that the optimized aid-to-navigation deployment scheme can effectively ensure the safe passage of ships through the bridge area and navigational locks,providing critical technical support for the formulation of safety measures in the project area.
