Effects of Different Minimally Invasive Treatments Combined with Swallowing Rehabilitation Training on Clinical Efficacy and Laryngeal Function in Elderly Patients with Laryngeal Cancer

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of different minimally invasive interventions combined with swallowing re-habilitation exercises on the clinical outcomes and laryngeal function of senior individuals diagnosed with laryngeal cancer.Meth-ods From June 2021 to October 2023,total 86 elderly patients diagnosed with laryngeal cancer were included in a randomized study at our hospital.These patients were evenly divided by random number table method into two groups:43 in the radiofrequency ablation group and 43 in the laser group.The radiofrequency ablation group underwent tumor tissue removal using low-temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation,while the laser group received CO2 laser therapy.All patients underwent swallowing rehabilitation training after treatment.A comparative analysis was conducted,evaluating general clinical data,treatment efficacy,operation-related characteristics,laryngeal function,quality of life,and the occurrence of adverse events both pre-and post-treatment.Results The disease control rate in radiofrequency ablation group reached 97.67%,which showed no significant variance compared to laser group's rate of 93.02%(P>0.05).Moreover,patients in radiofrequency ablation group exhibited lower average mucosal recovery time and VAS score on first postoperative day than those in laser group(P<0.05).Following treatment,patients who underwent radiofrequency ablation showed markedly reduced clinical examination findings,improved results in the drinking water test,normal eating score,and total score on the Symptom Severity Assessment(SSA)compared to their pre-treatment and laser group counter-parts(P<0.05).Additionally,patients in the radiofrequency ablation group displayed notably higher SF-36 and Global Clinical Quality(GCQ)scores post-treatment than pre-treatment and laser treatment group,with a significantly lower average Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)score compared to pre-treatment and laser group(P<0.05).The overall incidence of adverse reac-tions in the radiofrequency ablation group stood at 4.65%,showing a lower rate than the 9.30%observed in the laser group,albeit without statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusion The integration of low temperature plasma radiofrequency ablation with swallowing rehabilitation training presents as a more advantageous approach in enhancing laryngeal function and overall quality of life in elderly individuals diagnosed with laryngeal cancer,thus exhibiting a promising potential for extensive clinical utilization.关键词
