Abstract
Seven commercially available hydroentangled facial mask base fabrics,covering baseline properties,microstructure,chemical structure,water retention,tensile performance,moisture vapor transmission,release characteristics and human performance assessment were evaluated.The effects of dry and wet states on the mask fabric performance were also compared.Results show that emulsion essences can reduce fiber entanglement in mask fabrics,which consequently affects their tensile strength and elongation,increases the liquid absorption,and decreases the moisture permeability.Through a multi-dimensional evaluation of tensile properties,water retention,release characteristics and human subjective assessments,Tencel and Cedar mask substrates were identified as the optimal choices,skin-friendly mask fabric and ice crystal mask fabric can serve as alternative materials.This work provides important reference data for subsequent matching of the hydroentangled facial mask base fabric fibers with emulsion essences and their essence formulation design.关键词
