摘要

Abstract

Oregano essential oil is a volatile secondary metabolite extracted from plants of the genus Origanum(Lamiaceae).It is rich in active components such as carvacrol and thymol,and possesses various biological functions,including antibacterial,antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,immunomodulatory,and growth-promoting effects.In the context of the'anti-antibiotic',it has become an important green feed additive as an alternative to antibiotics.Oregano essential oil exerts its physiological regulatory effects through multiple mechanisms,including disrupting microbial cell membranes,scavenging free radicals,and modulating gut microbiota and immune pathways.These actions effectively improve animal growth performance,enhance health,and optimize the quality of livestock products.Currently,oregano essential oil has shown promising application prospects in ruminants,pigs,poultry and aquaculture.However,there are still problems such as unstable product quality,unclear mechanism of action,unstandardized applicable dosage,immature preparation technology and insufficient safety evaluation.This article reviews the physicochemical properties,biological functions and application research progress of oregano essential oil in animal husbandry,and systematically analyzes the effects of genetic,environmental,harvesting,extraction and storage factors on the quality of oregano essential oil,providing a reference for promoting the large-scale and high-value application of oregano essential oil.
