Urban Forest Soundscape Equity:Concepts,Dimensions and Approaches

Abstract
Urban forests,as a core infrastructure for noise attenuation in cities and a key space for natural soundscape perception,provide ecosystem services such as urban noise attenuation,urban soundscapes optimization,and urban well-being enhancement and public physical and mental health.But the uneven provision of soundscape services by urban forests highlights the importance of advancing soundscape equity.This paper defines the concept of soundscape equity in urban forests for the first time and reviews its theoretical evolution,and proposes four core dimensions:spatial equity focusing on the balanced distribution of soundscape resources and equal access opportunities for different groups,noise regulation equity concentrating on the equitable distribution of noise reduction benefits,soundscape perception equity addressing the subjective perceptual equality among social groups,and soundscape health equity examining the universal and equal access to the health-improving functions of soundscapes.By integrating new technical methods such as multi-scale spatial models,fusion of subjective and objective data,artificial intelligence,and virtual soundscape experiments,a comprehensive technical framework and evaluation system for urban forest soundscape equity is established.Future research trends are also outlined,aiming to provide a basis for optimizing the allocation of urban soundscape resources and advancing environmental justice,thereby enhancing the sustainability of ecological services provided by urban forest soundscapes.关键词
