Identification and management of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities

Abstract
Amyloid-related imaging abnormalities(ARIAs)are intracranial signal abnormalities observed by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),and are one of the main adverse events of anti-Aβ monoclonal antibody therapy in Alzheimer's disease(AD).In severe cases,they can endanger the patients' life.ARIA,a common imaging manifestation during AD anti-amyloid immunotherapy,primarily includes two types:amyloid-related imaging abnormalities-edema/effusion(ARIA-E)and amyloid-related imaging abnormalities-hemorrhage/hemosiderin(ARIA-H).The pathophysiological mechanisms of ARIA involve vasogenic edema and cerebral microbleeds triggered by amyloid deposition.With the approval of anti-Aβ monoclonal antibodies in China,clinicians will increasingly encounter ARIA.Early identification and standardized management of ARIA can balance the efficacy and safety of anti-Aβ therapy,providing patients with more optimized individualized treatment strategies.Timely recognition and assessment of ARIA severity during medication use are crucial for clinical decision-making.关键词
