Abstract

Conventional bottom intake rack diversion head works face critical limitations in meeting high-diversion demands due to inadequate unit-width discharge and suboptimal sediment management configu-rations.To address these constraints,this study proposes a funnel-shaped intake conduit to replace con-ventional rectangular structures,and investigates the parametric influence mechanisms of bar characteris-tics on discharge coefficients.According to the four-factor(bar profile,slit width,inclination angle,lay-out configuration)three-level orthogonal experimental design,162 physical model tests were conducted under six flow regimes.Analysis of range and variance determined the statistical significance of each pa-rameter's impact on hydraulic performance.A discharge coefficient prediction model applicable to differ-ent bar profiles was established through dimensional analysis and multivariate linear regression.The study reveals that the novel conduit achieves 100%-150%higher unit-width discharge than conventional structures.Bar inclination and slit width demonstrate statistically significant effects on diversion capacity(F<F0.1),whereas bar profile and layout configuration show insignificant influence.Discharge coeffi-cient models for trapezoidal,cylindrical,and diamond-shaped bars yield R2 values of 96.9%,92.9%,and 93.3%,respectively.Benchmark validation confirms the cylindrical bar model improves R2by-4.0%to 11.9%compared with existing models,delivers minimal RMSE with optimal predictive accuracy.This research establishes a parametric design framework for high unit-width discharge applications in bot-tom-intake rack diversion head works.
