Abstract
Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of anterior chamber air injection versus conservative medical therapy for de-scemet's membrane detachment(DMD)following phacoemulsification. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on the clinical data of 62 patients(62 eyes)with DMD following cataract surgery who were admitted to our hospital.Patients were divided into the study group(31 eyes, and underwent anterior chamber air injection)and control group(31 eyes, and received conservative medical therapy)based on the treatment received.Postoperative outcomes compared between the two groups included the rate of descemet's membrane reattachment,cor-neal edema resolution time, best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),and complications. Results The reattachment rate of descemet's membrane in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group at both postoperative day 1 and week 1(P<0.001).The corneal e-dema resolution time was significantly shorter in the study group compared to the control group[(3.2±1.1)days vs.(8.5±2.9)days,P<0.001].Furthermore,the LogMAR visual acuity was significantly better in the study group at both 1 week and 1 month postoperatively(all P<0.001).At the final follow-up,the reattachment rate remained significantly higher in the study group(100%)than in the control group(80.6%)(P<0.05).In the control group,6 cases(19.4%)required conversion to anterior chamber air injection due to treatment failure. Conclusion For DMD after phacoemulsification, anterior chamber air injection, compared to conservative medical therapy, facilitates faster and more reliable anatomical reattachment, effectively promotes the resolution of corneal edema and visual recovery, representing a more efficient and dependable treatment strategy.关键词
