New Infrastructure Investment Empowering New Quality Productivity:Dual-Path Mechanisms and Threshold Effect Test

Abstract
Under the new development paradigm,new infrastructure investment acts as a strategic pivot for fostering new quality productivity.This paper first constructs a three-dimensional evaluation system for new quality productivity based on sys-tems theory,which includes basic elements,developmental elements and combinational elements.Secondly,by using the provin-cial panel data from 2012 to 2023,an empirical analysis is conducted to examine the impact effect and mechanism of new infra-structure investment on new quality productivity.Finally,the threshold effect of new infrastructure investment on new quality pro-ductivity is further tested.The findings are shown as follows:(1)New infrastructure investment drives the development of new quality productivity through two paths:triggering the reconfiguration of employment in skill-intensive services and promoting the digital transformation of enterprises.(2)The results of the heterogeneity test indicate that the new infrastructure investment in re-gions with lower technological innovation capabilities has no significant impact on new quality productivity.In regions with higher economic development levels and stronger technological innovation capabilities,the promoting effect is more significant.(3)The positive impact of new infrastructure investment on new quality productivity has a threshold effect.Each region needs to have cer-tain technological and digital foundations.关键词
