Abstract

Motianling pluton in Guangxi province of China,is an important uranium deposit host intrusion with excellent uranium mineralization conditions.There are mainly two types uranium deposit in the pluton:U-chlorite and U-silicate vein.However,exploration of U-silicate vein type deposits(e.g.Xincun ore deposit)got little progress in past 30 years.In order to provide guidance for the exploration of U-silicate vein type deposits,this study analyzed the spatial-genetic relationship between the silicified zones and uranium mineralization with statistical methods based on the previous exploration outcome and the experience of recent exploration work,discussed the pattern of siliceous hydrothermal activity on uranium mineralization.The results indicate that the silicification zone with thickness of 20-45 m extending in NE direction can be used as indirect indicator for uranium mineralization.The Himalayan-Yanshanian the hydrothermal fluid activities were divided into 3 stages(pre-,syn-and post-mineralization)with 10 phases.It was found that a single silica-rich fluid activity had a quite limited potential of U mineralization,but the overprint of multi-stage silica-rich fluid activities were favorable to form profitable ore body,while the intensive post-mineralization hydrothermal fluid activities with the precipitation of light color chalcedony contributed less to the U enrichment.This understanding on the metallogenic characteristics of the Motianling silicate vein type uranium deposit will provide a reference for the further exploration on Xincun-type uranium deposit.
