Abstract

To address the persistent issues of low efficiency and poor working environment in manual shielded metal arc welding for longitudinal seam welding,and to achieve efficient,green,and intelligent welding manufacturing,a narrow-groove intelligent hot-wire TIG welding system was developed.The system,carried by an intelligent welding trolley on a track,moves automatically along the wall plates of 06Ni9DR steel storage tanks.It integrates a digital high-definition molten pool monitoring system and an intelligent welding data management system with built-in welding procedures.The results show that based on arc tracking technology,the system can identify weld seam positions in real time and adaptively adjust process parameters,resulting in well-formed welds.Moreover,the joints exhibit excellent low-temperature impact absorbed energy,CTOD characteristic values,and wide-plate tensile plane stress fracture toughness at-196℃.This technology has been successfully applied to a 220 000 m3 LNG storage tank project,achieving a first-pass welding qualification rate of 99.44%,providing a reference for the intelligentization of LNG storage tank welding.
