Abstract
To meet the development demand for low cost phased array antennas,a miniaturized 8×8 Butler matrix based on Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic(LTCC)is developed.The compact design of the Butler matrix is realized by the miniaturized branch-line coupler and the optimized overall layout.The simulation results demonstrate that the insertion-loss is about 13 dB within 12.25~12.75 GHz.The difference of amplitudes and phase difference between adjacent antenna ports are no more than 1 dB and±11.8° respectively.The core size of the 8×8 Butler matrix is 33.5 mm×14.3 mm(1.42λ0×0.6λ0).A testable prototype is made,and the test results show good agreement with the simulation results,validating the proposed design.关键词
