Vegetation Cover Characteristics of Comprehensive Parks in Xinxiang City During the Hot Season

Abstract
[Objective]This study aims to explore the spatial clustering characteristics of fractional vegetation cover(FVC)in comprehensive parks during the hot season,and further clarify the spatial heterogeneity of vegetation cover in comprehensive parks,thereby providing scientific evidences for vegetation management and ecosystem protection of urban parks.[Method]Taking comprehensive parks in Xinxiang's central area as a case study,we combine remote sensing imagery with park boundary data,and use SNAP,ENVI,GIS tools and spatial autocorrelation analysis to derive the FVC index,examine its temporal dynamics and spatial distribution,and discuss the characteristics of vegetation cover during hot seasons.[Result]1)The FVC in Xinxiang's comprehensive parks exhibits a unimodal trend from June to September,with consistently low values.The FVC within the boundary-line spaces is significantly lower than in vegetated areas;2)There are substantial variations in vegetation cover among parks.Within the boundary-line spaces,75%of parks have the FVC ranges of[0.05-0.2]during the hot season,higher than those in green spaces;and 3)A significant positive spatial autocorrelation is observed in the FVC of comprehensive parks from June to September,and significant high-high and low-low cluster regions exist.[Conclusion]The FVCs across comprehensive parks during the hot season are generally on a low level and unevenly distributed at that,and they are spatially significantly correlated(P<0.05).In the future urban greening planning,priority should be given to parkland layout optimization and vegetation cover increase for enhancing urban ecosystem services and functions and creating a high-quality eco-environment for urban residents.关键词
