摘要
Abstract
Objective To conduct a bibliometric analysis of the literature on combined therapy for ankle sprain and to explore research hotspots and trends regarding its rehabilitation effects. Methods Literature on the application of combined therapy in ankle sprain rehabilitation was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection from its inception to March 2025.Document types includ-ed articles(e.g.,clinical trials, randomized controlled trials)and reviews(e.g.,meta-analyses,systematic reviews).Citespace soft-ware(version 6.1.R6)was used to analyze publication trends, author and institutional collaborations,country/region distributions, and keyword co-occurrence.Results A total of 135 publications were included. The overall publication output on this topic was rela-tively limited. The United States contributed the most publications(n=30),ranking first among all countries. The leading institutions in publication output were the University of Amsterdam,Medical University of Vienna,Sporthopaedicum Straubing, and the University of Kentucky, each with 4 publications. The most prolific author was Buchhorn Tomas, with 4 first-author publications.Collaborative networks were observed among research teams, notably between the Jiang Dong and Jiao Chen teams, and the Buchhorn Tomas and Benca Emir teams.Keyword analysis indicated that"randomized controlled trial"was a high-frequency term, underscoring its central-ity in the co-occurrence network and reflecting a primary research focus on comparing the efficacy of different treatments for ankle sprain.Other high-frequency keywords, such as"chronic ankle instability,""postural control,"and"physical therapy,"highlighted a significant research interest in functional recovery of the ankle. Keywords with high burst intensity also included"chronic ankle in-stability,""postural control,"and"physical therapy".Keyword clustering revealed that main research directions encompassed treat-ment methods for ankle sprain,ankle-related structures and functions,as well as complications and prognosis. Conclusion Current research on combined therapy for ankle sprain is limited in volume and shows fluctuating publication trends. However, existing evi-dence suggests that combined therapy is more effective than basic treatments alone, indicating substantial potential for future develop-ment and promising prospects for this research topic both domestically and internationally.关键词
