Pediatric chalazion:A comprehensive review of etiology,pathogenesis,and advances in treatment
摘要
Abstract
Chalazion is a common chronic non-suppurative inflammatory eyelid disease in children.The pathogenesis of chalazion is associated with various factors,including meibomian gland dysfunction,abnormal lipid com-position,demodex infection,and vitamin A deficiency.This paper systematically reviewed the risk factors,pathological mechanisms,and different treatment approaches for pediatric chalazion,including conservative management,pharmaco-therapy,physical therapy,and surgical intervention.It also discussed the potential value of emerging therapies,like intense pulsed light(IPL)and probiotic supplementation.The purpose of this review is to provide ophthalmologists with a comprehensive understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic advances,as well as to develop treatment strategies and evi-dence-based guidelines for pediatric chalazion.关键词
