Research Progress and Innovative Application of Next-Generation Sequencing Technologies in Veterinary Public Health

Abstract
Advances in next-generation sequencing(NGS)technologies and associated bioinformatics have markedly enhanced the acquisition and analysis of genomic data.At present,NGS has been widely applied in the study of animal infectious diseases,demonstrating significant value in the identification of unknown pathogens,epidemiological analysis of known pathogens,and metagenomic investigations of pathogen communities.These applications provide strong support for precise disease diagnosis,surveillance,and early warning.This review aims to summarize the current applications and development trends of NGS technologies in the field of veterinary public health,with a focus on their potential value in animal pathogen detection,disease diagnosis,and epidemiological surveillance and early warning.In addition,the opportunities and prospects for large-scale implementation of NGS are discussed.Overall,the application of NGS not only improves the efficiency and accuracy of detecting animal pathogenic microorganisms,but also plays an important role in safeguarding public health security and preventing and controlling the transmission of zoonotic infectious diseases.关键词
