"Virtue Transformation(Dehua),Governance Decree(Zhengling),and Calamity Change(Zaibian)"in the Yunqi Theory of Inner Canon of Huangdi

Abstract
Virtue transformation,governance decree,and calamity change are the fundamental forms of Qi transformation described in the seven major discussions of the Yunqi theory,as detailed in Inner Canon of Huangdi.Through an in-depth analysis of relevant chapters in Inner Canon of Huangdi,this paper explores the connotations and characteristics of virtue transformation(Dehua),governance decree(Zhengling),and calamity change(Zaibian).It proposes that these three concepts represent different levels through which Yunqi governs the myriad transformations of nature.The level of"virtue transformation"signifies the normal nurturing and cultivation of all things in nature by Yunqi.The level of"governance decree"reflects the orderly dominance of Yunqi over nature and life.The level of"calamity change"indicates the harmful impact of abnormal Yunqi on the myriad transformations of nature,representing a manifestation of disorder in natural processes.These three levels are interconnected:virtue transformation serves as the foundation,governance decree acts as the regulatory mechanism,and deviation from this regulation leads to calamity change.Together,they illustrate the varying effects of celestial and terrestrial Qi transformations on all things in nature.关键词
