Evaluation of water conservation function of litter in typical forest stands in the western Shanxi loess region
摘要
Abstract
[Objective]The litter layer is the main functional layer of the forest hydrological effect. It is of great significance to explore the water conservation capacity of the litter layer in typical forest stands in the Loess Plateau of western Shanxi.[Method]Six typical forest stands(Populus davidiana and Quercus wutaishanica secondary forest,Robinia pseudoacacia and Pinus tabulaeformis mixed forest,Robinia pseudoacacia and Platycladus orientalis mixed forest,Robinia pseudoacacia pure forest,Pinus tabulaeformis pure forest, and Platycladus orientalis pure forest)were selected as research subjects. The water conservation function of the litter layer was measured and fitted through a combination of field surveys and laboratory experiments, and the EWM-TOPSIS comprehensive evaluation method was used to assess their water conservation functions.[Result]The results showed that:1)The total thickness of litter in the six forest stands ranged from 3.04 to 5.63 cm,with the secondary forest having a significantly higher litter thickness than other forest types(P<0.05);the total accumulation ranged from 13.26 to 32.05 t·hm-2,with the semi-decomposed layer accumulation being higher than the undecomposed layer in each forest stand;2)The maximum water retention capacity of the litter layer in each forest stand ranged from 20.46 to 47.29 t·hm-2,with the secondary forest significantly outperforming other forest stands(P<0.05),and the maximum water retention rate ranged from 165.59%to 249.93%.The effective interception amount was highest in the secondary forest(38.33 t·hm-2),followed by R.pseudoacacia and P.tabulaeformis mixed forest(33.57 t·hm-2),R.pseudoacacia and P.orientalis mixed forest(25.72 t·hm-2),R.pseudoacacia(22.92 t·hm-2),P.tabulaeformis(21.63 t·hm-2),and P.orientalis(16.8 t·hm-2),with the effective interception rate ranging from 125.7%to 206.84%;3)Within the first 2 hours of immersion, the water retention capacity and water absorption rate of the litter layer changed most rapidly in the secondary forest, with both showing a logarithmic function relationship(R2>0.883)and a power function relationship(R2>0.989)with time,respectively;4)The comprehensive assessment of the water conservation capacity of the litter layer in each forest type using the EWM-TOPSIS comprehensive evaluation method resulted in the following order:secondary forest(0.76)>R.pseudoacacia and P.tabulaeformis(0.56)>R.pseudoacacia and P.orientalis(0.31)>R.pseudoacacia(0.29)>P.tabulaeformis(0.21)>P.orientalis(0.04).[Conclusion]From the perspective of water conservation,in addition to the secondary forest,Robinia pseudoacacia and Pinus tabulaeformis mixed forests should be established or existing pure forests should be transformed to be more natural to enhance the water conservation function in this region.关键词
